At Multicam Systems we have been promoting, the principles of Nested Based Manufacturing for many years now. Positioning a group of components on a sheet of material to obtain the best yield from the material is but one of the advantages of N.B.M.
Until recently, kitchen and vanity cabinets, wardrobes, bookcases and many other related timber products have been manufactured using traditional processes. Individual components cut from sheets of material, using a panel or beam saw, were then processed, one piece at a time, for drilling boring and routing operations.

Using a Multicam CNC Routing Machine and N.B.M. principals, a full sheet of components can be, drilled, routed and cut from the sheet in one setup at a single work station.
The advantages stack up rapidly: vastly reduced handling of materials; higher yield per sheet from a routing machine when compared to a saw; greater accuracy facilitates easier assembly and improves product quality; smaller capital outlay for one machine only and, most importantly, improved safety through better work practices.
Using industry standard software packages such as Cabnetworks, Cabinet Vision and Pytha, to name a few, the time from concept to production of a project can be greatly reduced. This increases your productivity and streamlines your entire production cycle.
